The 2006 International Kaohsiung County Puppet Theatre Festival includes all three major puppet shows, namely the shadow puppets, Budaisi (glove puppets) and marionettes. The international troupes from Italy, Hungary, Brazil and other five countries will also present various spectacular performances. Barbie Doll House is the most welcome hall for all. Everyone is happy that they can be so close to see the puppets.
The Pili puppet show in Hall of Military Furor is a must see for the fans. The entire Pili puppet theatre studio is brought to the festival ground. All fans are excited to take pictures with the characters.
Barbie Doll House is also being flown to Taiwan for the first time. Popular dolls collected by the younger generation such as the Eight Generals, High School Girls Uniform series, Jay Jou and other series will also show up in the festival’s activities. Other attractions include the internationally famous Big Shadow Puppets, the reminiscent Palm Puppet House, DIY Interactive Production area, human Pili characters, Air-Cushion Games and Entertainment Area, and Puppet Dining Hall etc. The programs are extremely interesting.
The yearly Puppet Theatre Festival has continued the development of art culture in Kaohsiung County. The performances of traditional and modern art give visitors the chance to experience truly international entertainment. Camp Weiwu has become a great place for all families.
